The
Majlis of lbrahim Mohammed Al Midfa
is located between Souq Al Arsah and the waterfront, with the unique round
windtower (the only one of its kind in the UAE) with blue ceramic tiles,
visible above the restored houses and souk.
Mr.
Al Midfa was Secretary for four Rulers of Sharjah until he died in 1983.
A very learned man, he was one of the first writers in the UAE and initiated
the beginnings of a library in Sharjah. He also wrote a regular 'newspaper'
with news from India, which was displayed in the Souk for all to read.
