Sharjah has a great number of unofficial
cricket pitches! Most weekends one can see a wicket set up
on an open patch of sand with a batsman, bowler, a number
of fielders plus several supporters turned out for an
afternoon’s entertainment.
Sharjah Cricket Stadium (532 2991) is the only venue
hosting International cricket in the Middle East. The
cricket season runs from mid-September to the end of May.
The local and Bukhatir League matches are organized by the
Sharjah Cricket Council and two international tournaments
are hosted by the CBFS, in March/April and
October/November respectively. Night Cricket is held
annually, during the Holy month of Ramadan. The stadium is
